What are your bags made out of? Our bags are made out of a recycled material called NPP, or non-woven polypropylene. It is 100% recyclable, durable, washable (wash in cold, line dry) and can be expected to last 1-2 years. Normal wear and tear includes light 'distressing' of the silkscreened design and should not be considered a defect - just think of it as wearing in a favorite pair of jeans!
How much does a bag hold? The bags are about the size of a paper grocery bag and can hold the contents of approximately 3-4 plastic grocery bags. As one of our fans says, "I love the nice big bottom" - the bags stand on their own and have a plastic bottom insert. While we've had customers and our staff fill the bags with cans and juice bottles and hold up, we do recommend that you use common sense in filling up the bags and have the bagger distribute the heavier items among multiple bags and not all in one bag.
Our staff has saved an average of 10 plastic shopping bags per trip to Target and gotten a cartful of shopping into 5 bags. Every little bit helps!
